27 Students recognised at Scholarships Awards Presentation Ceremony held in the College Ballroom, 7th October
Scholarships Awards Presentation Ceremony
Last Wednesday, the second scholarships award ceremony for the year was held in the College Ballroom to mark the achievements of our students, and the generosity of Friends and Alumni of St Mark’s that have made donations and bequests over the years. Without their generosity, many students would not be able to enjoy the benefits that a College such as St Mark’s brings. Just under $40,000 worth of awards were presented to 27 students.
Alumni Scholarships, presented by the President of the Foundation, Mr James Harvey, were awarded to Michael Hogg, Abigail Brough. Kieren Mitchell, Sam Bickerstaff, Esther Lang, Rochelle Green and Madeleine Osborn.
The Chairman of the College, Mr Richard Burchnall presented the following Scholarships:
- The Harold Fisher Scholarship, awarded to Mr Brenton Clarke
- The Bickersteth Scholarships awarded to Mr Doug Newton and Mr Tom Bateman
- The Margaret Beith Scholarship, awarded to Mr Lachlan Robinson and Mr David Desmond
- The Margaret Tothill Scholarship, awarded to Mr Tyson Reid
- The Patrick and Bessie Greenland Scholarship awarded to Mr Warwick Ambrose.
- The A R Le Messurier Scholarship awarded to Ms Clare McKillop
- The Alfred Lendon Memorial Trust Scholarship awarded to Ms Rosie McBain
- The Pank Scholarship awarded to Ms Angela Jou
Mr Lee Kell, State Manager for Programmed Maintenance Services awarded a scholarship to senior engineering student, Mr Roger I’Anson
Ms Sonia Laidlaw awarded the Don Laidlaw Prize to Ms Carlie Altmann and Mr Matheesha Herath
Mr Tim Brooks awarded the Tim Brooks Agricultural Science Scholarship to Mr Cameron Taylor
The Sir Ronald Fisher Medal was presented by Emeritus Professor Peter Parsons to Ms Emma Shattock
The Gavin Walkley Scholarship, presented by Dr Jane Walkley, was awarded to Mr Peter Kontzionis
Mrs Betty Lewis presented the Lewis Scholarship to Mr Jordan Gray.
