The Dean and his two Assistant Deans are the chief advisers on individual student matters. They live in College and have an open door policy for all students. The Dean manages the Academic Program and the Mentoring Program with the assistance of Senior Tutors and monitors the academic progress and  and academic welfare of all students. The Dean and his Assistant Deans work very closely with the Floor Tutors to provide care and support to the students. The Dean is also responsible for the overall good order of the College and pastoral care of students which includes counselling. At St Mark's we aim to do everything possible to help our students to achieve to their full potential. Therefore all students are entitled to equal opportunities and to respect both persons and property. The college encourages individuals to act against sexual harassment. The Dean has established effective liaison with the counselling centres at the three universities in Adelaide including the Counselling Centre (Adelaide University), the Counselling Service (University of South Australia) and the Counselling Service (Flinders University). There is always someone ready to help on a personal and professional level or just be there to listen if you feel the need to unload on any subject.

Senior Common Room

Members of the Senior Common Room (SCR) have expertise in a a number of academic disciplines and are ready to provide support to all students and help at any time. The SCR members conduct academic tutorials, mentor students and inspire students to set their academic and career goals.

Student Networks and Systems Managers

All students have access to wired internet from their rooms and are given valuable support by our Student Networks and Systems Managers if they ever experience difficulty. This support is valued by the students and it enables them to use our high speed internet for downloading their lectures and study notes from their universities. There is also a compter suite with printers and four networked computers in the library. Our intranet provides excellent academic resources including an extensive range of past exam papers.

Academic Tutors and Peer Contacts

The academic support at St Mark's provides every student with a number of senior students or Senior Common Room members who not only provide weekly tutorials but also give informal assistance during the week for answering questions and proof-reading assignmments. The tutorials are usually held in our outstandingly resourced library.

Floor Tutors 

Floor Tutors have the responsibility of providing care and assistance to students of the College in Newland, Memorial and Hawker Annex buildings.  Their primary tasks are to be available to help other students in the proximity of their rooms and to see that behaviour is in accordance with the rules of the College.  They are a first point of contact for personal and academic problems and can advise students on the existing support structures within the College.

Front Office

The College maintains a Front Office from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday to assist students and visitors with any questions or problems they may have. A Duty Tutor is on duty every night from 5pm and all weekend to ensure that assistance is provided in cases of illness or emergency. Front Office staff are available to assist in several areas including House, Finance, Catering as well as a wide range of other matters.
