Who may use the library?
The St Mark's College Library is a private library for the use of
- Residential students
- Staff
- Interested other people with a relationship to the College
- Researchers from outside College who have obtained permission from the Librarian or the Master of the College.
Borrowing
- Only the College community may borrow from the library.
- No borrower may have more than 20 items out on loan at any one time.
- The loan period is normally one month, with two extensions of one month each, unless the item has been reserved by someone else.
- In-demand books from the Reserve Collection are only available on 7 day loan.
- Books which have "Not for loan" stickers attached cannot be borrowed except with the permission of the Librarian or the Master of the College. This includes St Mark's Collection books (books relating to the College and its history), Reference Collection books, and the most current issues of periodicals.
- No books from the Rare Book Collection are for loan.
Reservations, Extensions and Returns
- Publications which are out on loan may be reserved.
- Publications may be extended unless they have been reserved by someone else.
- Books may be returned either to the Returns Trolley in the library or dropped into the Book Chute in the Dining Hall foyer.
