This large room is located on the first floor of Downer House and is used for Arts Evenings, the College Play, meetings, dinners, and the venue for guest speakers.
The historic Downer Table is located in the Ballroom. This table was owned by Sir John Downer and was in this house in 1897 during the meeting of the Australasian Constitutional Convention when Sir John Downer (Premier of South Australia), Sir Edmund Barton (NSW delegate and Leader of the Convention), and Mr Justice O'Connor (NSW delegate) prepared a draft of the Constitution of the Australian Commonwealth for the National Convention which met in Adelaide during March 1897.
