Mentoring ProgramMentoring david abfalter and two students

Lucy Buchanan is our Mentoring Program Coordinator for 2010. Lucy is a fifth year Medical student at the University of Adelaide. All first year students are mentored each year by senior students and members of the Senior Common Room. The goal of the Mentoring Program is to offer students a supportive environment that will motivate and challenge them to improve their academic perfomrance and foster a cohesive college and university culture. Mentors meet informally with their mentees three times each semester.

Professional Development Program

Scarlett Schumacher is responsible for coordinating a wide range of programs that provide professsional development for all students in College. Scarlett is in her fifth year studying a combined Law / International Studies degree at Flinders University.

Resume Writing and Interview Skills

Bree Downs-Woolley, an Old Collegian who works in the recruitment industry, will conduct this workshop once again in 2010. The workshop will include discussion on market conditions, customising your CV, communication tips during the interview and the best way to ask questions during the interview.

Study Skills & Time Management3studentsinlibrary

Aimed at the newer members of the College as they start to prepare for their exams, this session will help to examine how to set goals and priorities during the lead-up to the exams and during swot-vac. Effective time management will be shown to be the key for students to get the most productive efforts out of their precious study time.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's award is an exciting, worldwide self development program for young achievers. Each year, the Duke of Edinburgh's award gives young people the chance to prove to themselves that they can succeed in anything they have a go at. In 2010, the College will be sponsoring Collegians to take place in this worthwhile programme.
