Education Committee
The Education Committee is a formal academic body, and is chaired by the Master. Its members comprise the Dean, Board Member Mrs Gail Roediger, Dr Tony Shinkfield AO and Mr Chris Gent. Both Tony and Chris have a long association with the College.
The Education Committee convenes twice a year, in March and in August to interview first year students. Students are expected to speak openly about their academic progress as well as their feelings about life at College. Returning students whose academic results have not met the College's expectations and are on an academic contract, may also be required to appear before the Committee. Interviews are brief and adopt an early intervention approach to ensure students are on the right track from an academic and pastoral care perspective and any issues are highlighted and acted upon by the Dean and other tutors at the College.
Students experiencing difficulties with their courses are encouraged to seek advice from any member of the Education Committee. In addition, the College's academic tutorial system and extensive pastoral care and academic peer support enables students to access support at a range of levels acccording to their needs.
