About St Mark's
Introduction
St Mark's College, the oldest of the residential Colleges associated with universities in South Australia, opened its doors to students in 1925. It became a co-residential College in 1982 and now provides accommodation for over two hundred and thirty undergraduates, post graduates, senior members and visitors. It is associated with the Anglican Church of Australia, but is freely open to women and men of all faiths and nationalities. Its primary affiliation is with the University of Adelaide but it is also affiliated with Flinders University and is open to students attending the University of South Australia and other tertiary institutions.
Location
St Mark's is situated in North Adelaide overlooking the parklands and Adelaide Oval and immediately next to St Peter's Cathedral. It is a 5-10 minute walk to Adelaide University and the city campuses of the University of South Australia and is easily accessible to Flinders University and other university campuses by public transport. It is only five minutes from O'Connell Street and Melbourne Street where there are many restaurants, supermarkets and hotels. It is only 2-3 minutes from running and cycling tracks on the banks of the River Torrens where students can use these parkland areas for daily fitness.
